Safe and relaxed sedation in oral surgery
Anxiety-free treatment thanks to low-risk sedation

In our practice, we offer you a low-risk anesthesia option in addition to the unavoidable local anesthesia to make your procedure as comfortable and safe as possible.

We routinely offer moderate general anesthesia (so-called "twilight sleep" or sedation) for patients with above-average anxiety or a known anxiety disorder regarding surgical or dental procedures.

Safety
first:

  • Observe fasting before sedation (do not eat for 6 hours beforehand, do not drink for 2 hours)
  • Guideline-compliant continuous monitoring and digital archiving (respiration: pETCO2, pSATO2; circulation: heart rate and blood pressure)
  • Placement of a venous access in the area of the left antecubital fossa or back of the hand to secure an application route for the anesthetic and any necessary medication
  • Administration of directly anxiolytic anesthetics to achieve a sedated twilight state or sleep
  • Natural protective reflexes (swallowing, breathing) are retained (as in natural sleep)
  • Short wake-up phase (15-30 minutes)
  • Need to be picked up personally by an adult (to accompany the child on the way home and for follow-up observation at home), due to impaired judgment and memory (for approx. 24 hours)
  • After the procedure, drinking is possible immediately and the intake of soft food after approx. 2-3 hours

Experience has shown that lighter forms of central anesthesia (e.g. with tablets or nitrous oxide) cannot be performed with sufficient predictability, which is why we cannot generally use these drug-based methods for oral surgery.

If deep general anesthesia (with artificial respiration, med.: intubation) is medically necessary or a serious heart disease is present, treatment in an appropriate clinical center with intensive medical or anesthesiological care would be indicated.

Don't be afraid of the operation: with our anesthetic treatment, you will experience the procedure pain-free and stress-free - make an appointment for your treatment under anesthesia!

Botox®
Temporomandibular joint pain

This is usually caused by excessive tension in the chewing muscles. Botolinum toxin (BTX, Botox®) can help. With targeted micro-injections, the doctor relaxes your chewing muscles and thus alleviates your symptoms effectively and in the long term.

Sleep disorder
Snoring therapy

Do you or your partner suffer from loud snoring? With a tooth-supported splint, this can very probably be a thing of the past. The splint is worn at night and effectively prevents the soft tissue in the throat from slackening, which otherwise narrows the airway and leads to snoring. We support you on the way to restful sleep for you and your partner.

Implants
for your dentures

An implant is an artificial tooth root that grows firmly into the jawbone. Crowns, bridges and dentures can be attached to it - and a perfectly planned and securely fixed denture leads to a better quality of life.
