With microsurgical surgical technique for tooth preservation
Contemporary removal of infections at tooth root tips
Thanks to modern procedures, including apicoectomy (root resection), teeth can now be preserved in the long term despite serious inflammation. To save the natural tooth, we use a microsurgical procedure to remove the inflamed part of a tooth root. This is followed by a thorough ultrasonic cleaning of the root canals (retrograde) from the root tip. We then aim to achieve a bacteria-proof "sealing" of the root canals with a biocompatible filling material.
For more precise diagnostics, we use digital volume tomography (DVT) in certain cases to reliably weigh up the pros and cons of an apicoectomy and plan the procedure sensibly. This enables us to perform a precise root tip resection for you.
We will inform you in detail in advance about the course of treatment and also discuss which treatment method is more beneficial in your case.
The apicoectomy is performed on an outpatient basis and under local anesthesia.
Sedation or general anesthesia is also possible in our practice on request.

Advantages
- No risk of injury to the tooth crown
- The statutory health insurance covers the costs
Disadvantages
- Difficult viewing conditions of the tooth root and the root canal system to be treated
- Major removal of hard tissue at the tip of the tooth root ("root shortening") necessary
- Unavoidable removal of jaw bone due to the access route to the tooth root (bone tissue may then be missing if an implant is to be placed later)
- Risk of damage to neighboring structures, e.g. tooth or facial nerve
- Incision and scarring in the gum area
- After the operation (postoperative) swelling
Botox®
Temporomandibular joint pain
This is usually caused by excessive tension in the chewing muscles. Botolinum toxin (BTX, Botox®) can help. With targeted micro-injections, the doctor relaxes your chewing muscles and thus alleviates your symptoms effectively and in the long term.
Sleep disorder
Snoring therapy
Do you or your partner suffer from loud snoring? With a tooth-supported splint, this can very probably be a thing of the past. The splint is worn at night and effectively prevents the soft tissue in the throat from slackening, which otherwise narrows the airway and leads to snoring. We support you on the way to restful sleep for you and your partner.
Implants
for your dentures
An implant is an artificial tooth root that grows firmly into the jawbone. Crowns, bridges and dentures can be attached to it - and a perfectly planned and securely fixed denture leads to a better quality of life.
